Today’s post is a little different y’all but I’m excited. Instagram has a lot of us bloggers WAY down. The algorithm is hurting everyone’s engagement and it’s extremely hard to feel like you’re doing anything right. Instead of stressing myself all the way out about numbers, followers, likes, etc. I’ve decided to continue putting the effort behind my brand and my content…which is what we SHOULD be doing as bloggers anyways. I talked a little about branding in this post and have considered doing a deeper dive into building your brand as a blogger or even as an entrepreneur. Honestly, your brand as a business (no matter the field or position) is definitely the most important thing in my eyes.
As a blogger and content creator, a big part of my brand (at least in today’s climate) is Instagram. So while my numbers might be wonky, I still want to put all of the effort I can behind the content I’m pushing out for my followers (existing and potential) and brand partners. In comes my Instagram Workflow. Most bloggers out there have a workflow that includes their photo style, editing process, posting schedule, etc. It’s the “blueprint” to how they go about sharing content with the world. It has taken me FIVE years of blogging…I kid you not…to finally figure out my ideal workflow. It’s taken years of mastering different apps and techniques, learning the ins and outs of editing and finally being comfortable with what my style + aesthetic really is.
So, while my Instagram Workflow isn’t going to work for everyone, I thought I’d break it down from Lightroom to Snapseed to VSCO and more, including how I plan out my feed for that cohesive look & feel we’re all after. I’ve also included below a few of my main takeaways for editing and the apps I can’t live without.
