The Perfect Vacation Swimsuits

If you’re an OG reader, you remember that I took a solo trip to Jamaica a few years ago during my “break” with Brandon. It was my first solo trip so I left the hotel only once to do a boat cruise/party thing. Don’t get me wrong, I have no complaints about sitting beachside without a care in the world. It was heaven. However, I’m pretty pumped to head back now with my man and his fam to experience Jamaica in an entirely new way.

This might sound weird but the one thing that has given me the most anxiety is swimwear. I know. First world problems. But I have a good reason.

Spoiler alert: I have a butt. It took me YEARS to finally embrace my curvy, thicker shape and I love it. Let me say it again. I LOVE MY BODY.

On the flip side, certain swimsuit styles tend to reveal a bit more than I want Auntie to see. Don’t get me wrong. I believe every woman should embrace, celebrate and rock their bods with full confidence always and forever. This includes not giving two effs what anyone else thinks. But sometimes you want a little more coverage and that’s ok, too.

In preparation for this trip, I really struggled to find bikinis or one-pieces that provided the coverage I was looking for but still felt fun and flirty and, well, like me.

And then. Like magic – I found Coco Reef.

The perfect marriage of sexy, cute, trendy, feminine and elegant, their swimsuits do NOT disappoint. I am obsessed with all of my new looks and honestly can’t wait to get on the beach, sit back and relax without worrying that my cheeks my make their debut at the wrong moment. If ya know, ya know.

The One Piece

I have always been a fan of the one piece. A chic, flattering cut that holds ya in and gives you the flexibility to do everything from lounging by the pool to paddleboarding in the ocean, a good one-piece is a must. I am hands down obsessed with this deep-v style from Coco Reef. The ruching is uber flattering. This tan shade is going to look BOMB with my Jamaican glow. I love that I can also double this look at a bodysuit with denim shorts or linen pants.

The Black Bikini

Surprise. I am a HUGE fan of a black bikini. I’m not gonna lie. I probably have like 16492579 black bikinis but this one is a clear favorite. I love the high waisted bottoms and the detail on the front. Don’t even get me started on this sexy top. With a combo like this, you can’t help but feel like a total Bond Girl.

The Perfect Coverup

Almost important as the swimwear is the stuff you wear over the suit. I think every vacation wardrobe needs a sleek shirt-dress style coverup. There’s something so easygoing about this black maxi and I love that it buttons all the way up or down so I can wear it open when I’m going to the pool or wrap a belt around the waist on our way to lunch.

The Printed + Patterened

As much as I love a solid black bikini, I’m becoming more and more of a fan of all things with prints. This dotted cutey is so fun and adds a little punch of something special to my traditionally minimal vacation wardrobe. Also – these might be the most comfortable and flattering bikini bottoms in life.
