Does anyone else realize that summer is almost over! (Insert major freak out here) I can’t believe we are halfway through July let alone halfway through my favorite summer staples – i.e. bikinis, minis, sundresses. You name it, I’m not quite ready to give up my favorite warm-weather trends so I was pretty excited to see that Sears had a huge collection of summer pieces that could easily transition to fall. A pretty important rule I try to live by when shopping on a budget is to purchase items that can we be worn in a variety of ways and that have the ability to make it through more than one season. That definitely still leaves room for a sequin midi skirt or hot pink heels but it’s so crucial to add items to your closet that offer up some type of longevity.
Take the pieces in today’s post for example. Not only have I been dying to get my hands on a pair of skinnies in this adorable mint hue, but they pair perfectly with a darker top and neutral accessories. For a summer-friendly look, I went with a sleeveless army green blouse (love that exposed zipper!) and a pair of suede mary janes. I can already think of a ton of ways to wear in the fall – a chunky ivory knot sweater, gray tee and leather jacket, a pair of chic riding boots – I can’t wait! Even the more basic items like the top or heels, these can go with pretty much anything already in your closet. If I can back to the gym, I will definitely be wearing this top with my favorite faux leather pants for a chic cool-weather look. And lastly, the perfect neutral accessories. Luckily, these can transition from season to season for a fresh take on everything from a LWD to shorts and a tee.
Long live summer!
