shopping online for fall tops

A few weeks ago, I shared some of my favorite work appropriate skirts from Metalicus. Today’s post is all about picking out the perfect tops for fall…and from the same brand (seriously a new fave of mine). After sorting through a few of my favorite sites, I was able to find some of the cutest ladies tops online at Metalicus and could not wait to share them with you. For  me, I know my fall wardrobe will be full of simple and versatile pieces that can be layered, snuggled in and easily transitioned from shopping to drinks. Enter the most idealcool weather staples. I love how the majority of tops at Metalicus come in a bevvy of neutral hues. Not only is this color palette pretty spot on for fall and winter, but they literally go with everything.

Here are a few of my favorite tips for styling classic pieces like these for fall:

1. Jeans. Jeans. Jeans.
With comfy tops like these, you can’t resist throwing them on with a pair your favorite pair of denim for an easy, comfy look. Pair the white button up with boyfriend jeans and heels for a dinner date or slide into ripped black skinnies and that gray tee with booties for brunch. You literally just can’t go wrong with jeans and a simple top for fall.

2. Desk to Drinks
I love the peplum top and sheer black blouse for work. Not only are they perfect with a pair of black wide leg trousers or a white pencil skirt (yes, I wear white after Labor Day) but they can easily transition to happy hour. Just throw on a red lip and your favorite sparkle and your good to go.

3. Balance is Key
I am a huge wearer of dresses (for all seasons). Anytime I decide to throw on a top of some sort, I get a tiny dose of anxiety. I don’t know if it’s my pear shape or if I’m just crazy but I tend to freak out when I have to pair a top with whatever bottoms I choose that day. The most important thing for me is balance. If I go for a more flowy top like the gray and black number above, I definitely stick with a skinnier cut on the bottom (jeans or even leather skinnies). For something more streamlined like that navy ruffled top, you can get away with a wider leg or even tuck it into a midi skirt.

4. Simple is Simple is Simple
When it boils down to it, we all want to be lazy and just throw on the layers during those cooler months. I literally like to wake up, slide into my comfiest and warmest pair of jeans and top it all off with a shirt that fits under a sweater or puffy jacket. For days like this, that olive crop top or gray tee are absolutely perfect. You can wear them with pretty much anything and make for the perfect layering if needed.
