Although I was pretty darn excited to share our kitchen reveal…and then my office…and then our dining room, today I’m on a whole new level of excitement because our living room is finally complete!
This was the room that was stressing me out the most. It’s the room in our house that will likely get the most traffic and the room B and I will spend the most time in together (well ya know, aside from the bedroom). I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to pull of decorating the space in a way that truly blended our styles (masculine for B and modern/minimal for me), but after weeks of scouring moodboards and IG inspo, I think I finally did it.
You know I love neutrals so I already had a color palette in mind. I wanted lots of greys, browns, black and white with pops of color throughout. The challenge was finding neutral pieces that felt masculine enough while still offering some style. I decided to go for lots of different textures including faux leather, tweed and little pops of faux fur (the latter was for me).
We started with this amazing sofa from Arhaus. I knew I wanted the sofa to be the focal point of the room but also a piece that could help tie our styles together. The darker cream color is the perfect blank canvas so it was easy to add in accents once we had this piece locked in.
As for everything else, I purchased almost all of the other pieces from Wayfair, All Modern and Target. Because I know myself and I love to change things up, I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on trendier items that might change or be replaced over time as our styles evolve. I’m in love with all of the little accessories like the more masculine throw pillows mixed with fun boho accents like this pillow from Arhaus and the faux fur stool. The accent chairs are also another favorite. These black and gold chairs were one of the first things we purchased and this grey and brown chair was the finishing touch. My favorite little corner might just be the martini table + lamp combo. Something about the pair just feels so glam and chic without being too overpowering.
I seriously love how everything came together. Our goal was to create a space that we could relax in and entertain friends and family and I think we pulled it off. Lots of seating that can be moved around and a flexible layout that allows for changing up the floorplan. I can’t wait to start having people over but in the meantime, you can find me on that grey chair 90% of the time working or binge-watching old Friends episodes!
