I shared a few weeks ago that I was kickstarting a new skincare routine with Olay and I am so pumped to finally share the results with you! For the past four weeks, I’ve teamed up with Olay in taking the 28-day challenge which gave my skincare routine a much-needed facelift. (no pun intended)
Let me give you a little background.
Women want that glowy look without looking too oily – #amiright. For women of color, sometimes finding the perfect product can be a little tricky. Insert Olay Luminous products. Olay understands ethnic skin so with their collection of goodies, they are able to deliver products that benefit our unique skin and that is something to celebrate.
One of my goals for the 28 day challenge was to be able to confidently rock that “fresh face” look. That means no makeup. Like none. And let’s be real, the fresh face look starts with healthy, clear and glowing skin which is why I was 100% on board with swapping out my previous skincare routine with Olay Luminous’ 4-step regimen. Check it out below!
Olay Luminous Micellar Water is a facial cleanser that removes makeup and impurities in one step, without harsh scrubbing or drying out skin. Formulated with natural ingredients like rice bran and aloe extract, this game changer sweeps away impurities and leaves your skin feeling refreshed, clean and illuminated from within. Yasssss. The thing I love most though is the convenient and mess-free pump. Long story short: this makeup remover is simple to use, requiring no rinsing afterwards.
Olay Luminous Miracle Boost Concentrate is an advanced tone perfecting, ultra-lightweight formula booster, which is designed for use with a Luminous Moisturizer. The Face Booster blends Olay’s most potent tone-perfecting ingredients ever to fades the look of dark spots and uneven skin tone, and its lightly scented formula has a consistency and feel of a face serum. This stuff was basically a lifesaver in preparation for NYFW and even during (goodbye dark circles and dull skin).
Olay Regenerist Luminous Overnight Mask is perfect for achieving bright, pearlescent and healthy looking skin every morning. It hydrates skin overnight leaving it radiant upon waking up. So yes, you can totally wake up this like. Unlike a typical, peel-off mask, this gel treatment absorbs into the surface of skin working throughout the night to even tone at the surface cell level. I loved adding this to my daily routine!
Olay Luminous Light Hydrating Lotion is a lightweight face moisturizer that hydrates from within for luminous skin in two weeks. Yes you read that right – just two weeks. It hydrates to plump skin, even skin tone and fade the look of dark spots to illuminate skin. Having a glow for a restless few days in NYC was a must and this stuff definitely came to the rescue.
Step 1: Cleanse with the Olay Luminous Micellar Water (AM if needed and PM)
Step 2: Apply Olay Luminous Miracle Boost Concentrate (AM and PM)
Step 3: Apply Olay Luminous Light Hydrating Lotion (AM)
Step 4: Apply Olay Luminous Overnight Mask (PM)
Step 5: You Glow Girl! Get ready to rock that fresh face!
This is not a drill. Within just a few days, I immediately started to notice the glow. The dullness in my skin is gone and it feels so hydrated, but not oily or greasy. I’m also really really loving that some of the darker spots have cleared up which makes rocking a fresh face that much easier. Talk about a success story. I also can’t say enough how happy I am that I did this 28 day challenge leading up to fashion week. My skin took quite a beating so it was pretty great to try the makeup-free look for a few days!
Although I’m still learning so much about skincare and all of the products out there, a common theme I’ve noticed is the lack of skincare for women of color. You might not realize that different ethnicities require different formulas and products but after doing my research and experiencing Olay Luminous products – mind blown. I highly suggest that any of my ladies out there that might relate try taking their very own 28 day challenge. Would love to hear about your results and any other skincare tips you might have!
