A few weeks ago I shared my favorite tinted moisturizer of all time and it got me thinking…what other favorites can I share with you guys? I mean, I love trying new products and new brands and then sharing my experience with all of you, but I also have a few tried & true favorites that I always use no matter what. I have a feeling those are the things you might be a tad bit more interested in so I thought it would be fun to start a “favorites” series! First up. Bronzer.
When it comes to makeup, you guys already know I like to keep things simple. I don’t wear a ton of makeup and tend to stick to the same routine for pretty much every occasion. One makeup bag essential I can’t live without is a good bronzer. I’ve tried a few different brands over the years and always turn to the same two products. One is a higher end “splurge” and one is a drugstore find so I’ve got something for everyone, my friends.
My Favorite Bronzer, Part 1: NARS Bronzing Powder
I honestly think the NARS Bronzing Powder was the first bronzer I purchased as an adult. I just graduated from college and was looking to up the quality of my makeup products and stumbled into a Sephora. The first product the salesperson suggested was the NARS bronzer and I’ve been hooked ever since. Although this designer product has a nice $40 price tag, it is every bit worth the price. Not only does it last forever but I love the natural, warm bronze effect it adds to my look. Most days, I wear just bronzer and mascara and this is a huge part of the why.
Laguna is my all-time favorite shade and one of those cult favorites most NARS users pair with the Orgasm blush. You can even buy the duo. No matter my skintone throughout the year, Laguna is always my go to. It’s light enough for when I’m “less tan” and warm enough for the summer months when I’ve got my strongest glow. It’s just so so good.
My Favorite Bronzer, Part 2: NYX Professional Makeup Matte Bronzer
When I’m out of my NARS bronzer or traveling, I usually turn to the NYX Professional Makeup Matte Bronzer. This stuff is SO good for a fraction of the price and I love the matte effect. I’ve tried a few different drugstore bronzers but this NYX one is my absolutely favorite. It’s lightweight but still offers great coverage and lasts all day. It doesn’t feel like a “cheap” makeup product and is another good find that will last you for a few months.
I wear the shade Deep Tan but also have the Medium shade when I’m going for a slightly more subtle look. I also love using both shades as an eyeshadow. They’re the perfect warm neutral and compliment all skin tones which I love.
