Last week was a big one for me. Not only did it mark my first year at BGCA but it also celebrated one of the best things I have ever done. Like ever. One year ago, I decided to make the move from DC to Atlanta and I literally have not looked back. Sure, there were a ton of things that drew me to Atlanta – my adorbs parents, my crazy high school Friends, the way better cost of living – I mean the list could go on. But what was the biggest? That my friends, would be Mr. Fashionably Lo…or as he would probably prefer to be called, my boyfriend/best friend/comedian/photographer…

For those of you that don’t know, George and I have been together since high school and after 4 years/2 states apart at different colleges and a brief stint in DC for my first big girl job, it finally time to come back together for the biggest journey of our lives. This past year has been absolutely crazy and I could not be more blessed to have gone through it all with this guy.

To celebrate such an exciting time for both of us, we were lucky enough to go on a little staycation at my new favorite oasis, The Mandarin Oriental – Atlanta. Everything from our Welcome to our spa treatments to our breakfast was seriously amazing. The hotel team made us feel so special and the grounds were absolutely beautiful.

We kicked off the weekend with early spa appointments before dinner. I had my first ever facial (ammmmmaaazzzinnng) and George got a massage. After opening up a little champagne and enjoying the hotel’s patio, we ate The Cafe & Bar. So. Good. We may or may  not have made a walk to the Sprinkles ATM for a late night treat before climbing into bed at 9:30 to watch Shark Tank. The next morning we were treated to a healthy and absolutely delicious breakfast (smoothies and all).

We had such a great time and it was the perfect way to really relax, rejuvenate and just celebrate all that we have done this year. If you live in Atlanta, you have got to book a mini stay, head over to the restaurant on Friday night for a little jazz or just chill out at the spa.

A huge thank you to the Mandarin Oriental – Atlanta team for opening your fabulous doors to us for the weekend!
