Amplify Your Wardrobe with the Perfect Pants

Okay truth time. I’m not typically a fan of pants. I  love a good dress or skirt situation mainly because of the comfort and ease they usually provide (I’m not talking minis and bodycons here). Other than jeans and the occasional culotte, you won’t really find me in pants. It’s weird.

However, as my style continues  to evolve, I have to say I’m drawn more and more to a trouser or skinny pant. In comes LOFT. I’ve always turned to LOFT for office-friendly staples that could easily transition into night or weekend wear. When I left my corporate job in January and transitioned my 9-5 wardrobe into a more casual, girl-boss-working-from-home vibe, the one thing I found myself getting rid of was pants. I didn’t feel, at the time, that it made sense to hang out to the dressier pants I would wear from time to time. That has all changed.

I feel like the “pant” is making a total style evolution. Chic trousers, boot cut, wide leg, tapered bottoms are all the rage and I want it. After taking a peek at LOFT’s new Fit Guide, I’ve come to realize that the trouser is going to be my new go-to. I love the more relaxed fit of a trouser and these wide leg pants tend to complement a curvier shape which I obviously love. For a simple + chic look I’d wear to a meeting with one of our Adorn clients, I opted for an oversized grey sweater. I love pairing neutrals together for sophisticated and modern look and couldn’t get enough of this combo. For something a little more casual, you could rock a distressed tee + leather jacket or denim jacket (perfect for a fun weekend look).

When it comes to finding the perfect pant, don’t be afraid of looking too “corporate”. I love finding new ways to wear a more formal style for weekend or daytime wear.

  1. Untuck a printed blouse and layer on a structured jacket over a pair of chic trousers.
  2. Layer on a slip dress with the perfect tapered fit and throw on a sexy pair of heels.
  3. Try a comfy knit and blazer with a comfy pair of leggings
  4. Balance out your wide leg pants with a cropped sweater and booties.

I love this outfit and the simplicity of it. The way you styled professional, office trousers with the that slouchy sweater is absolutely gorgeous. I’m thinking I need to own a pair now.
