For My Fellow Bosses

As we get close to wrapping up another year, I can’t help but take a look back at 2018 and celebrate all that I’ve accomplished.

I made the leap in January to start blogging full time. As in, no other side gigs like I was doing last year. It was scary but exciting and I’m pretty pumped to say that I’ve been able to actually keep it up. There have been slow months. There have been days I started looking for part time jobs because I was terrified I’d never get another campaign. There was also the crazy realization that I now had to cover my own benefits (more on that later). But through all of the craziness, I made it through and am looking forward to growing even more in 2019.

In addition to my blog, I also run another business with Megan. We started Adorn Media Group in 2014 as an agency for both brands and influencers, doing mostly influencers campaigns, brand management and social media marketing. Since its launch, we’ve totally transformed our business model and now exclusively offer blog consulting services. This covers everything from strategy to branding to content planning and more. We are a small but mighty team and have major plans for 2019 to grow our squad.

As each business continues to grow, all I can think about is the admin stuff I’d have to deal with. Payroll, benefits, HR…all of the boring tasks that equally stress me out. I was recently introduced to Justworks and am officially excited be a boss in the new year.
