With summer right around the corner and one too many pints of ice cream in our freezer, I have decided that it’s time to take the reigns and really get this body bikini ready (better late then never, right?) Other than making some healthier nutrition choices – and yes, this will still include ice cream and every now and then – I really want to start challenging myself physically. When I first graduated from college, I was a true fitness nut — working out every day, sometimes twice a day and always trying new classes or the latest trends. That all stopped when I realized this thing called Happy Hour (this is for your PT A-Team).
I have been interested in trying Pure Barre for the longest time so I knew this would be the perfect way to start my new health-kick. The total body workout utilizes the ballet barre to perform small, isometric movements, which burn fat, sculpt muscles and create long, lean physiques — um, hello best workout ever!
After talking to the manager (& sweetest girl ever!) at the Pure Barre Studio in my neighborhood, I just knew this was the right class for me. Kerry explained to me that Pure Barre is one of the few classes that provides a truly intimate feel while still maintaining a fun and vibrant atmosphere. Last night was my first class and let me tell you – total.body.workout. I have always been an avid cardio but I think Pure Barre is really going to be a game changer for me. While you’re not running around or doing big bursts of movement, the muscles you work and the way you work them are already proving to be a new favorite of mine.
I’m so excited to be teaming up with Pure Barre Westside as I document my journey so stay tuned for more much more over the next few weeks including trainer tips, pulls of favorite workout gear and the coveted before & after photos.
Interested in trying out a class? Head over to their site to find a studio near you. And if you live in the Atlanta area, make sure you check out Pure Barre Westside and we can take a class together!
Love that you’re doing Pure Barre! I started last week and am hooked.
And for healthy eating, I read and am working my way through The Conscious Cleanse. It’s a two-week cleanse that takes you off of most common allergens and lets you re-introduce them to see if something really common (eggs, dairy, gluten, etc.) is gunking up your system and slowing you down.
I’m three days in – will let you know how it turns out!
