How We Proposed to Our Bridal Party

Um. First of all. I can’t believe we have a wedding party! AHHHHH! Every time we do something for the wedding, I have a major pinch-me moment. I’ve always known B was the one but ever since we got engaged, it’s just such a surreal feeling to know that I actually get to spend the rest of my life with him. Like, how cool is that?

Okay – sappy stuff out of the way. Sorta.

As soon as got engaged, we started talking all things wedding, including who we wanted in our bridal party. I’ll be honest, I initially didn’t really want anyone. I had always pictured Brandon and I standing up there alone to exchange vows. But something changed when we got engaged. We both realized pretty quickly that our day wouldn’t be the same without our closest friends and family up there with us.

Under normal circumstances, B and I would have loved to ask all of our friends in person. I sorta pictured this brunch situation where we surprised everyone with a special gift and a champagne toast when they said yes. We tried putting off asking everyone until post-COVID (this was back when I thought things would be back to normal by 4th of July) but we soon realized that wasn’t going to happen. So, we decided to pivot.

We knew we still wanted this special ask to be, well, special so we decided to do the next best thing. Gift boxes, duh. Because we couldn’t get together with everyone in one room, we hand-delivered a few of the boxes to propose in person with those that live close to us and mailed out the rest. Good thing about the era of COVID? We are now totally comfortable with filming and video chatting every single thing. So, that’s exactly what we did.

Without revealing too much about the specifics around the wedding, we wanted the gift boxes to encompass the “vibe” for the big day. Think tequila (hey, we like to party), all of the essentials for a celebration like no other and personal touches like handwritten notes, personalized notebooks, playing cards with our names, and tequila labels with our wedding date.
