Holiday Season Casual

This post was written in collaboration with Famous Footwear. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Holiday season is here – and that’s crazy. With less than two months left in the year, it’s officially time for holiday entertaining, last minute gifts, dinner party prep and everything in between. Like most women out there, I feel like I’m constantly on the go, running errands, juggling two business and trying to be everywhere at once.

While they might not solve the challenge completely, I’ve come to the realization that a good pair of slip on sneakers can make things a WHOLE lot easier. Sliding into my favorite sneakers not only takes the pressure away from trying to find something to wear (I leave ‘em by the door) but they’re also super comfy for bouncing around during the holiday season. Not to mention, they make any outfit look that much more put together.

I’m obsessed with the Report Alexa Side Zip in Nude pair I just picked up from Famous Footwear and can’t stop wearing them. For a casual dinner + movie date night with B, I opted for a canadian tuxedo and camel coat. On most days, you’ll find me in the nude sneaker with black leggings, a sweater or sweatshirt and a leather jacket. Easy, casual and comfy. Just the way i like it!

Looking for a few more tips to make this busy time of year a little more stress free? Checkout 3 quick tips below:

    1. Make a list (and check it twice – get it): In all seriousness, lists are the only way I can stay organized. At the start of each week, I sit down and type out a list of everything I need to get done. Groceries I need, projects to finish, appointments to make, etc. I write it in my Notes app and then add timed items to my calendar! I love having my week blocked out my tasks and to-do’s, especially when I have more than one thing going on.
    2. Block off some “ME” time: I literally put a hold on my calendar for at least one 4-5 hour block each week. I don’t schedule anything during that time and instead do whatever I want. This usually includes a couch nap or Netflix binge of some sort but can also include a mani/pedi date, lunch and a movie solo or shopping online followed by, you guessed it, a couch nap.
    3. You can’t do it all: It’s okay to not have it together all of the time. I had to come to the realization that I’m not always superwoman. I’m pretty awesome, but I have my off days and that’s okay. Get as much done as you can and then do the rest the next day. OR, shift your priorities and lists to accommodate for more flexibility! The less pressure you put on yourself, the better.

Great post and tips! I agree that creating a list and making some alone time is the best you can do. Even in general, that’s a great tip to live and go by.
