An Edgy Twist on a Girly Trend

I have never been a fan of polka dots. The print always reminded me of a Minnie Mouse costume or something I would wear as a 5yr old. That is until recently. This black and white polka dot dress was probably the first spotty I thing I fell for. And to be honest, I’ve had a love affair with all things polka dot ever since.

I love the length of this polka dot dress and am pretty obsessed with the ruffled off the shoulder detail. Because it’s a pretty girly piece, I wanted to make things a little more modern. I opted for an edgier twist with this faux leather jacket and simple black accessories. I think what I love most is how perfect this polka dot dress is for transitioning into spring. When the temps start to rise, you could totally pair this stunner with gladiator sandals and a wide brim fedora. I also love tying the font of maxi dresses in a small knot for a new take on the midi trend.

Now that I’ve taken the plunge with a new pattern, I kind of can’t wait to try adding even more bold prints into my wardrobe!

A little bit of a personal question, but what size did you get this dress in?
