Color Crush: Rust

Fashionably Lo Wearing Rust-9I think I may have just found my new signature color. Rust has always been on my list of hues to incorporate a little more into my daily wardrobe and I even took a stab at it here and here. This is honestly one of those colors that I think every skin tone can pull off. Because there are so many different shades of the warmer color, it literally can go with anything and can even serve as the perfect neutral for whatever color palette you’re working with.

When I stumbled across this lace top  and pencil skirt at Target as part of their Who What Wear Collection, I was floored. They weren’t paired together but I knew instantly that I wanted to go for a monochrome look (clearly have a love affair with matching sets lately). For something slightly sexy – ideal for date night or even a Girl’s Night Out – I went with the sheer look and paired the top + bottom with a lace bra and neutral accessories. Want to go with something a little more office appropriate? Try a beige or black cami under the top and throw on a white linen blazer. I also love that both of these pieces could be work separately to create great summertime looks.
