If you’re following me on Insta, you probably saw by now that #FashionablyBae and I are in our second week of #Whole30. Not gonna lie, it’s been tough. I went t NYC this weekend for the ultimate girls weekend and seriously struggled around all of the pasta, carbs, cheese, sweets, etc. I wanted it all! But I stuck to it (minus the cocktails, obi) and am feeling pretty proud of myself. The good news: the second week is way easier than the first. The second best part, I’m learning to whip up some pretty healthy & filing dishes to keep me on track.
Which brings me to today’s post. Now, while this cocoa avocado smoothie isn’t completely #Whole30 compliant – actually, no smoothies are – it’s one I love making for breakfast or a dessert-alternative once we start transitioning out of Whole 30. Keep scrolling to peep the recipe for one of my favorite smoothies ever (seriously, even B loves it) and comment below with your favorite blended treats!
Cocoa Avocado Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (I love Califia Farms…they also make coffee beverages!)
2 Tablespoons Almond Butter
1/4 Cup Oats
1/2 Avocado
1 Scoop Cocoa Protein Powder (or Cocoa Powder if protein isn’t your thing)
1 Banana
Ice Cubes
Steps:
Step 1: Slice a banana into smaller pieces so they easily blend. Set aside.
Step 2: Cut your avocado in half lengthwise and scoop out one half of the Avocado.
Step 3: Pour almond milk into your blender. Scoop in oats, almond butter and protein powder.
Step 4: Add in your sliced banana and avocado.
Step 5: Toss in about 5-7 ice cubes
Step 6: Blend until smooth
Optional: I added some of the oats and banana to the top of the smoothie for a little garnish. You could also top it off with slivered almonds or cocoa powder and cinnamon!
This looks so good and I’m not usually a health nut! I think my husband would love this too! Have a great week!

So glad you posted this! I’ve been trying to ween myself off of Starbucks everyday (in order to save money and be healthier) and this sounds like the perfect alternative! I was actually eyeing that brand of Almond Milk at Whole Foods, so now I definitely need to try it!

I love putting avocados in smoothies. The key for me is to put an extra fruit with it so the avocado only effects the texture (creamier) and not the taste. Need to try this recipe!
