Our days look a little different right now and although it has personally taken me a little while to get used to the new normal, I am finally here. And I’m loving it.
In the past, summers were spent outdoors, with friends and family, traveling, etc. This year looks a little different but we’re making the most of it and there’s something pretty empowering about that. In addition to getting creative with our at-home date nights and making our way through an epic “movies to watch” list, one of the things I’ve been focusing on at home is my overall health & wellness.
It is totally possible to work towards your health goals while at home. No matter what they are. And even better, it can be fun and easy. Let me show ya.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
I’m no longer a snooze button girl and it feels good. After waking up, I’ll head straight to the kitchen and sip on a cup of hot water with lemon (great for digestion & a natural boost of energy) while I make my morning green juice and protein smoothie.
This little routine is the perfect way to start my day and I’ve found that having some structure helps me stay on top of my health goals.
8:00am Live workout with my Lauren Elyce Fit Challenge girls
I’ve really enjoyed getting in my morning workouts from home before I start my workday. In 45 minutes or less, I can get in an effective and FUN sweat sesh all from the comfort of my living room. One of the things that has been fueling my workouts? New kicks.
Not gonna lie, new workout gear really motivates me – even when I’m just working out at home. I recently scored these new Brooks running shoes from Shoes.com and I am obsessed. Seriously, the black & white speckle pattern is so chic and modern and the fit is PERFECTION.
If you’re like me and feel fired up with a new set of sneakers, I’ve got good news for you! Shoes.com offers FREE SHIPPING on all orders and as a bonus, you can get a $5 reward when you join their FREE Rewards Program.
9:00am Work hours
After a quick shower and refilling my water bottle for the day, I buckle down at my computer and get to work. Emails get checked first and then I dive into work for a few hours. Of course, I come up for air when it’s snack and lunch time!
2:00pm “Me” time with a cup of coffee or tea
Let’s be real. Rest & recovery is just as important as being active. I start my day with some activity so it’s only natural that I take a little time in the middle of the day for some R&R.
Lately, one of my favorite ways to get a little recovery is with a 30-40 minute walk outside. I make myself a coffee or tea to-go and listen to an audio book and it is the BEST.
I’ve been living in these New Balance kicks (love this pair) all summer long and love that they’re perfect for everything from an afternoon walk to grabbing a social-distancing approved dinner with friends. I mean, they’re SO cute and comfy.
So bummed these leopard kicks are sold out but not to worry! I found a few other animal print faves that I know you’ll love.

3:00pm Back to work!
After my walk, I get back to work for a few hours and aim to shut my computer down by 6 or 7pm at the very latest.
When the work is done, I love to unwind with a movie night or binge watching a fe wof my favorite shows with B!
