A few weeks ago, I had a reader ask me how to “enhance” their wardrobe and I gotta tell ya, I was stumped.
After sitting in my closet and trying to identify the things that made my wardrobe “special”, I think I got a better understanding of what she was asking. I live for simplicity and neutrals but realized that I have a few fun pieces in my closet that “enhance” the style of my go-to basics.

No. 1 Faux Leather Skirt
A good faux leather skirt is a must. Whether you love a fitted pencil skirt, a leg-baring mini or something feminine & flirty like this A-line pleated number, the faux leather skirt goes with everything.
Opt for a white tee or button up for a classic look or have fun with a concert tee and blazer or a sheer top and strappy heels.
No. 2 Printed Silk Scarf
I love adding a fun silk scarf to any look. Look for a chic animal print or a bold, floral or striped pattern. This is a great accessory for dressing up your office attire or you can get a little wild and wear as a bralette with jeans!
No. 3 Bold Blazer
I love a blazer and have a closet full of neutrals and plaids but every girl also needs a bold blazer to toss into the mix. I love this red shade and think it would be the perfect topper to everything from a tee + jeans to work trousers + a white blouse.
No. 4 Snakeskin Booties
This one is super specific but definitely a must in my wardrobe. I love a good pair of booties and while you might have a black and tan pair, you definitely to add in a fun snakeskin bootie to take those basic dresses or pants to the next level.

We all love a good blouse, but get ready to take it to the next level with the sheer variety. I love a good sheer blouse with jeans or faux leather pants. You can also dress it up with a skirt and heels or layer on a faux leather jacket for date night.
Hey Thanks for the list of must haves in the wardrobe. Frankly speaking I was never sold on the Leather skirts but i think i will give it a try this time. The snake skin boots are a definite ones to have in your collection.
