this weather. it’s crazy. one day we’re in full on fall temps and the next day, it’s ninety degree and steamy AF. if you’re anything like me, prepping your fall wardrobe just seems super stressful at this point. so instead of going all in, i’m turning to my go-to transitional fall styles to get the job done.
I can’t believe I’m still showing y’all NYFW outfits. Just goes to show I 100% overpacked. Surprising. Anyways, today’s look is actually one I’ve worn several times since I’ve been back. This pieces sort of all just go together – but I’ve also rocked ’em as separates. Let me give you the deets.
It’s technically fall but it does not feel like it. It’s steamy. It’s hot. The evenings aren’t even cool yet. So this means all of those cute sweaters, leather leggings, jackets, etc. are staying in the back of my closet for the time being. Instead of my typical autumn-appropriate clothing, I’ve been rocking these key transitional fall styles in heavy rotation lately. Let’s start with this gingham mini skirt. Y’all – it’s so good and it’s on sale. So yeah, you need it. I love the asymmetrical cut and tie detail and let’s be real, the gingham print is my favorite. For a warmer day, I paired this look with a tee but you could also layer on an oversized cardigan or a lace cami + leather jacket. The options are endless.
These flat OTK boots are probably one of my favorite purchases this season. They were super affordable and I mean, they go with everything. I love an over the knee booth with shorter styles like this mini skirt or a swing dress but you could also pair these with black skinny jeans or over your favorite pair of leggings for something more casual.
The last thing on my can’t-stop-won’t-stop list is a graphic tee. I’ve been rolling in these for the past few weeks and seriously can’y get enough. I think I brought at least six white tees with me to New York and wore every single one. How is that even a thing? Let me tell you – they’re comfy, they’re versatile, and they’re cool af. For something fun and casual, I paired a tee with this gingham mini and boot combo. You can dress things up with a leather pencil skirt and strappy pumps or go for the super casual route with ripped jeans, sneakers and a lightweight bomber jacket.
Are there any transitional fall styles you can’t get enough of? Shout ’em out below!
