Going Places: A Day in the Life

I’ve talked a little about what a typical day looks like in my world. I’m a full time blogger. I run a blogger consulting firm with Megan. I am starting to get into photography. I also have a personal life. To manage #allthethings….well it changes on the regular. My day never quite looks the same but there are definitely days that I try to shape up and schedule to make the most out of them.

When I had the opportunity to partner with Southeast Toyota to take their new Toyota Corolla for a spin, I couldn’t wait to bring it along for a super packed day of blogger & girlboss errands.

A Day in The Life…

8:00am

On my best days, I try my hardest to start with a workout. Whether it’s a 20-30 minute mini workout at home or a spin class, I 100% have a better day when it starts with a little sweat sesh.

Next up, breakfast. I’m not the best cook in the world so breakfast is usually something quick & easy, maybe a protein smoothie or a sweet potato/bacon/pepper hash situation…either way, I have to eat breakfast every day and love to just sit and savor my first meal of the day while sipping my first cup of coffee and checking through my emails.

10:00am

I usually try to head to a local coffee shop to get some work done for a few hours. Honestly, most days are spent in sweats as I work from home. However, when I know I have other appointments or meetings lined up for the day, I love to get dressed and actually get off the sofa. I’ll plan to at least work away from home 2-3 days a week.

Other than the fact that I now have the opportunity to interact with other adults, I love getting an overpriced latte and chocolate chip cookie and settling into a little corner table or booth and just plugging away at my to-do list.

1:00pm

To many people’s surprise, most bloggers don’t shoot their outfits every single day. Again, most days are spent in leggings with no showers or makeup. It’s real life. But when it comes to capturing content for the blog, I make it a point to try and meet with my photographer at least once a week or every other week. We’ll shoot for a few hours and get all the photos we need for the next few upcoming projects. I’ll also meet with a blogger friend every now and then and we’ll shoot for each other! This is a great way to save money and reconnect with friends I haven’t seen in between traveling.

Most shoots are totally planned out with shot lists and outfit changes but every now and then, we’ll just link up for lunch or an event and capture content around whatever it is we’re doing. So yes, there’s definitely a balance of candid and “planned” content!

4:00pm

I think one of my favorite things about working for myself is the flexibility that comes with creating my own schedule. Another thing I live – meetings over meals. I just feel like a total BOSS for some reason. Whenever we get a new client for Adorn and they’re based in Atlanta, we love to take them to dinner or lunch and get to know a little more about them. Grabbing dinner at an awesome Atlanta eatery and then inserting the perfect combo of girl talk and business…well it doesn’t get much better than that.

The Results…

To say the Toyota Corolla served as the perfect vehicle to get me around for a bus day would be a true understatement. From awesome features like Bluetooth pairing for music and phone calls, easy to use navigation (getting from coffee to the next photo shoot location to dinner was a breeze), a back-up camera for stress free parallel parking and all the room in the backseat for a mobile changing room in between photo shoots and dinner, there wasn’t anything I didn’t love.
