Last week, I shared a peek into my first ever Target Beauty box along with a quick + easy hair tutorial. Let me tell ya – the Beauty Box is a huge life saver. While the actual box is currently sold out (it went fast!), you can shop all of the products featured in my Beauty Box here.
One of the products I used to create the simple braided updo was the SheaMoisture Black Castor Oil Styling Cream. This was something I’ve actually never used before and was really excited to try something new! I don’t know about you guys, but I get super stuck in my ways when it comes to beauty and hair products. When I find something I like, that’s it. The benefit of Target’s Beauty Box is that you can try a ton of awesome products all sold at Target and then buy the ones you like. It’s also really good to switch it up every now and then especially when it comes to your hair routine. My hair tends to “get used” to certain products so I like to swap out my styling routine every so often to keep my locks fresh.
The SheaMoisture Black Castor Oil styling cream was one of the products I was most anxious to try mainly because I’ve heard great things about the brand in the past. I have super curly/frizzy/textured hair so I almost always need a good cream especially when wearing my hair straight. I love how light it felt while also adding some smoothness and hold to my hair. Seriously the perfect product to build a good base for the braid I featured in my tutorial. The box came with a sample size and although I only needed a quarter–sized amount to get the job done, I went ahead and bought a full size bottle because I loved it that much. Love that I can now add this into my hair routine and beauty product arsenal!
