Summer is here – well really, it’s been here – and nothing gets me more excited than stocking up on new summer wardrobe picks. One of the things I’ve been lacking lately are good dresses. I’m talking quality dresses. I have a ton of easy, casual pieces but I am definitely in need of some dressier picks that are good for blogger events, wedding season and everything in between.

When it comes to my go-to brands for stocking up on summer finds, I’ve always been a fan of River Island. There is just something so cool about their clothing that I’ve always loved. Seriously, most of my swimsuits, tops and even some of my casual dresses are from River Island so when I took a look at their newer arrivals, I couldn’t wait to start adding stuff to my cart.

I picked up this navy dress + chic resort-style bag for a blogger event this past weekend and even got some double wear out of it for a friend’s bridal shower. What I love about both of these pieces is how feminine they are but also still modern and minimal. You can never go wrong with a navy dress and the fit, cut and the details of this silk number are anything but basic. And the bag. It screams summer but isn’t your typical straw/bamboo situation. I love the lasercut detailing, crisp white tones and gold hardware. There’s also something about the bag just seems so perfect for a getaway but also the go-to bag for brunch, date night or even the office.
