OOTD: 2.7.2019

I am so excited to kickoff a new series here on Lauren Elyce: OOTD. I hinted to some new changes on Instagram over the weekend and this is one of them. In the past, I was publishing five new blog posts every week on top of a daily RSS feed newsletter, social content, etc. Not only was I having a hard time keeping up but I felt my content was starting to get less interesting and creative. I was writing posts to meet my quota instead of spending time making each post the best possible. I dropped it down to four posts towards the end of 2018 and that definitely helped but after taking a step back at the start of this year, I decided to focus in even more on creating quality content that would inspire and empower. I don’t want to waste your time reading mundane posts everyday and I surely don’t want to waste my time writing content that doesn’t excite me.

So, here’s where we are at.

  • Three new posts every week. Think fresh, captivating and more exciting stories covering everything from fitness to travel to home decor and more. There will be real conversations, exciting imagery and content that is meant to enrich your life in one way or another.
  • OOTD. This new style post will go live once a week and will feature a favorite look from that week. This could be a quick photo I snapped on my way out the door or a look from a recent photo shoot but my hope is to continue sharing style content in a more digestible manner. All looks will be shoppable and will include a few style tips!
  • Weekly newsletters. For now, I am getting rid of the daily newsletters. Previously, subscribers could opt in to receive a newsletter every time a new post was published. Sometimes you guys clicked through and sometimes you didn’t but at the end of the day, I felt like there was a missed opportunity to share content in a more exciting way that was actually helpful to you. Starting tomorrow, I will be releasing a weekly newsletter recapping my favorite posts from the week, exclusive content, featured items and more.

I hope this new format makes sorting through content more user friendly but as always, your honest feedback is GREATLY appreciated. So feel free to comment below or shoot me an email. Now, are you ready for the first ever OOTD post?

This week has consisted of a whole lot of sitting at my desk. I had a ton of work to do and for 90% of the week, I didn’t change out of workout clothes or sweatpants. Yesterday, I ventured out of the house and off to a coffee shop to meet with a new client and get some work done in a fresh environment. Because I knew I would be sitting for a while, I wanted to be as comfortable as possible while still looking put together for my client.

I opted for jeans (surprise) and a white button up layered with a tan turtleneck sweater. Side note: this sweater came in my first ever StichFix box and I am obsessed. Think an affordable approach to personal styling/shopping delivered to your door when you want it. It’s amazing.

For the rest of the look, I added my go-to fedora to cover up my messy hair and skipped the makeup. I wore heels for the first part of the meeting and stashed a pair of loafers in my bag so I could get a little more comfy afterwards. This was an easy look I love to create for more casual settings and I can almost guarantee you’ll see me in some variation a few more times!

This may be one of my favorite outfits of yours! Love the new plan! It’s what I’ve been doing, less outfits, more quality content that’s helpful. You always nail it with the fitness and personal inspirational stories. You got this! Can’t wait for the newsletter.
