Alright, ya’ll – time to get personal (again – been doing this a lot lately!!). And by personal, I mean what goes on behind the scenes, once my laptop is closed and I am completely unplugged from all things work/blog/Adorn. Outside of slipping on the sweats, cracking open a bottle of wine and settling in for a good ole fashioned Netflix binge, I take my nighttime beauty routine very seriously. Sure some nights I am so tired from a hectic work day/marathon happy hour that I snuggle into bed with full makeup on and bobby pins still holding my hair back — not a good look come morning, I promise. But when I actually have the time to break out my favorite products for a little pampering, I definitely jump at the chance. And this means way more than just scrubbing off the waterproof mascara.
Keep scrolling for a look into my favorite beauty routine and stay tuned for a fun little surprise at the end of the post!
Wash & Condition!
As you know by now, I have a bit of an obsession with changing up my hair. From bold bangs, to black locks – I have done it all…and for the most part, over the past few months! Currently a blondie, there has never been a more critical time to really take care of my hair. Not only is it important to find a good shampoo to help keep the blonde fresh AND clean but the conditioner- the holy grail and key to lasting moisture – must be taken very seriously. I love Vidal Sassoon’s ColorFinity Cleansing Conditioner for exactly this reason. It gently cleanses, deeply conditions and provides the perfect amount of color protection. The sulfate free formula leaves my otherwise pretty brittle and dry hair feeling way more (like, WAY more) moisturized and soft.
Step 1 – Shampoo your locks with a good sulfate free shampoo. Obvious choice? Opt for the ColorFinity Shampoo (duh). You won’t need a lot and I usually only use a shampoo in conjunction with the Cleansing Conditioner if I have a ton of product in my hair or have been in chlorine or the ocean/lake.
Step 2 – Get ready for smooth, soft hair! Add about a quarter size amount of the Vidal Sassoon ColorFinity Cleansing Conditioner to your hair and leave on for 1-2 minutes. Rinse and repeat if that’s your thing!
Overnight Beauty Staples
Now that your hair is clean and ready for a good hair day, it’s time to prep for bed. And why sleep on beauty when you can illuminate and repair. Whether I wash my hair before I go to sleep or not, I love using Pantene’s Repair & Protect Overnight Miracle Repair Serum a few times a week. Simply apply 1-2 pumps to wet or dry hair before you go to sleep (you don’t even have to rinse!) and wake up with noticeably softer and smoother hair. I’m not kidding. It works.
And to add a little sparkle and glow to that already very pretty face of yours, you have got to try Olay’s Regenerist Luminous Overnight Mask. The gel-based mask absorbs throughout the night and is formulated with vitamin B3, mulberry extract, and humectants to reveal pearlescent skin that glows – because who doesn’t want to glow in the morning!
