The NEW Lauren Elyce

I’ll be honest, today’s post probably excites me more than it excites you. I’ve come to terms with it and I feel pretty good about my decision to hit publish. So, here we are.

And where is that exactly? Well, I’m glad you asked. Today’s post has one simple goal in mind: to celebrate and share the launch of a new way ahead for LaurenElyce.com. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for the past several months and something that has definitely been a long time coming. It’s a new brand – and so much more.

“I want to empower women to live strong, healthy lives. “

Lauren Price, Blogger & Content Creator & virtual bestie for life

Although you might not care about why I chose the fonts I did or how I pair certain colors together, I hope you find something valuable in today’s post. It’s about so much more than the physical brand you see from here on out. It’s about the changes I’ve made to better serve YOU, the reader. And I’m pretty freaking excited about that. So let’s dive in.

STEP 1: THE ROADMAP

A refined purpose calls for a new direction.

The whole reason for this rebrand was centered around one common theme: I had no clear sense of direction. I was sort of just skating by doing a little bit of everything without a concrete point of view. And it was driving me crazy.

When I was looking for a brand designer, it was really important that they had experience doing brand strategy. After my first chat with Kierra, I knew she was going to be the perfect match for me. We set out to first nail down my purpose as a blogger & creator. And we freaking nailed it.

Brand Values & Mission

I started my blog in 2012 as an outlet for affordable fashion. And that was about it. After a few years of running my blog as simply a hobby, it started to transform into something much greater than I ever thought it could be. I started talking about different topics and began to understand the importance of how it was all packaged together. And then, in 2019, my focus and interests shifted. I started out on this epic wellness journey that truly changed my life. It wasn’t just about the weight loss or getting my personal training certification. I was being introduced to this version of myself I had never met before. And I loved her. Through that introduction, I found a new passion for empowering other women to feel GOOD. To love themselves regardless of the physical. And that’s where I found the foundation for what I wanted this platform to be.

To provide inspiration that improves the wellness and wellbeing of women so they can feel strong, empowered, and sexy.

That’s my mission. To inspire YOU to follow your own wellness journey & improve your well-being. This goes beyond fitness & nutrition. In my eyes, your well-being is everything. It’s your emotional and mental health. It’s feeling good in outfits you’ll love. It’s having honest and open conversations about relationships, body image, and favorite movies. And, along the way, my hope for you is that you’ll feel strong, empowered, sexy and so much more. Moving forward, this platform will be more than blog posts and static content. Every piece of imagery, every line of text, every video will be tailored to this mission. And I’m pumped.

Who I’m talking to…

Nailing down the why was just the first step. Next up, we focused a lot on getting a better understanding of the who. Who would I be talking to? Who would I be empowering with this new content? To be honest, up until today, I’ve always just considered myself as the audience. Which, to be fair, isn’t totally off base. But the audience is so much more than “people like me”. We set out to create two very specific women I would be speaking to moving forward.

Having this definition has not only helped me create a clearer content strategy but it’s truly grounded me back to my purpose. Thinking about you – individually – as I write every caption and blog post has brought on this entirely new level of inspiration that I just can’t get enough of.

STEP 2: THE LOOK

Tying it all together with a pretty bow.

Now to the fun part. The packaging. We’ve got strategy & a roadmap – and now it’s time to figure out how both of those things will be presented to an audience.

I gotta say, Kierra nailed it. The colors, the fonts, the logo, the art direction – it’s all so ME. Although I decided. to hire a pro, it was really important to me that the branding element of all of this felt very true and authentic to who I was and who I am, and who I want to be: a girl who loves neutrals, simplicity and skews a bit on the editorial side. Bright & bold colors or girly fonts are never going to cut it for me.

The final direction we landed on is just so perfect. The color palette, made up of various shades of brown, represents strength and reliability. Brown is often seen as solid, like the earth, and it often associated with resilience, dependability, security, and safety – all things I want you to feel as you set forth on your own wellness journey. I also like to think that the combination of nudes, dark to light, represents the variety of women I connect with on a daily basis. Not just by skin tone but by shape, size, background, and interests. The typography – the text/font and my logo(s) – are perfectly simple & elevated. Everything I could want in how my words are visibily displayed to you on a daily basis.

STEP 3: CONTENT DELIVERED

Taking a new approach to content that inspires.

Last up – the content. To be honest, this is the part that is going to be the most fun…for both of us. With a new roadmap and branding suite comes a totally new approach to the content I create and how I create it.

I won’t go into my entire content strategy but just know, things are going to be different around here in the best way imaginable. Blog posts will be more helpful. Instagram photos will be more relevant. Images and videos will be more inspiring and relatable. It’s all going to better and bigger.

And it won’t all be your typical wellness content either. I plan to focus pretty heavily on this wellness & wellbeing theme but it will cover pretty much everything you can think of. Fitness & nutrition, mental health, self love and body image, affordable fashion, clean skincare & makeup, relationships & wedding, travel (one of these days) and more. You can expect more video content than ever before, newsletters you’ll actually want to read and share…and so much more. So get ready, ladies.

I hope you’re ready to be empowered, sis.

I’ll leave you with this. I’m excited for us. I’m excited that I’ve found my passion and my focus. I’m excited that we’re virtual besties. I’m excited that you made it this far in the blog post. I’m just excited – and I hope you are, too. This year and what’s to come is going to be everything we’ve wanted and more – I love that for us.
