Let me tell you something. I love smoothies. Whether I need a quick breakfast on the go or a pre-workout fuel, smoothies are my go-to for getting in a “treat” that’s actually pretty healthy and full of nutrients. I mean, you can’t go wrong with something that tastes like a milkshake but doesn’t have any of the bad stuff that’s usually in a milkshake. Win win for everybody.
I make a lot of my smoothies at home but I also have a few go-to smoothies that I order when I’m out and about. A lot of you have asked about my diet and what I eat so, to start, I thought I’d share some of my favorite smoothie orders. In the spirit of full disclosure, I’m usually not a fan of green smoothies. I go more for the protein-packed varieties but every now and then I like to switch it up!
MY GO TO SMOOTHIE ORDERS
Banana + Protein + Almond Butter
This is the combo I usually go to when I’m looking for a dessert like treat that still packs a little punch. The mix of protein powder, almond milk, almond butter and a little banana (I usually ask for only half of a small banana) is really satisfying and keeps me full. This is a great meal option for breakfast or lunch on the go. For a fun twist, get chocolate protein powder or a little bit of cocoa powder for a chocolate treat.
Coffee + Almond Milk Frappe
Everyone loves a good frappuccino. They taste amazing but definitely aren’t very good for you. When I’m looking for an extra dose of caffeine, I love creating my own version of a frappe. Cold brew or iced coffee blended with almond milk and cocoa powder, lots of ice and maybe a scoop of protein powder if they have it!
Cocoa + Avocado
This is a pairing I had to get used to but now I love it. A blend of cocoa powder, avocado, almond butter, banana and almond milk create a super creamy and tasty smoothie that’s equal parts dessert and nutrients!
Spinach + Banana + Almond Butter
On the off chance I go green (usually when I haven’t had enough veggies that day), I love to get spinach blended with banana, almond butter, almond milk and maybe protein powder!

NOTE: I always make sure there is no added sugar in the smoothies I order. I ask for them to leave out any sweeteners and double check that there are no sweeteners added to the ingredients I want. If there are, I just switch them out for something else.
