Last week I shared the before & after of our kitchen – the room I’m probably the proudest of. I mean – talk about a transformation, right??
Well, this week, I’m gonna show you my second piece of pride and joy: my office. Now, before I get into details I have to admit something.
I was a little selfish with this one.
As in, we don’t have a single piece of furniture in our living room or master bedroom but my office is 100% complete. Oops. I honestly did not plan it that way – or maybe I did – but it wasn’t internally to ignore the other important rooms in the house. It was just so much easier to pick up a few things to complete my office space, not to mention a lot cheaper (I mean, do you know how much mattresses cost?????).
So, the office is done. And I am obsessed.
I didn’t have much inspiration saved for my office decor but knew I wanted a neutral and slightly modern meets bohemian vibe. When I found a piece I liked, I bought it and just kept my fingers crossed it would all look good together. Luckily, I think all worked out!
The Details
To start, I already had my desk. I was actually going to sell it and bought a black desk to use instead. But after totally failing at assembling the new desk, I decided this brown one actually worked…and it needed to because I wasn’t going buy another new one.
Up next, the clothing racks. I knew I wanted my office to double as a closet…or as a cloffice (I think that’s what they call it). I wanted something simple and modern and loved these super affordable white racks. They go with pretty much any and all decor and, just in case I end up changing things around, these will always match.
I needed storage. The room is not huge (s/o to Shelby for these awesome photos and a lens that make the room look 1000000 feet wide lol) so I didn’t want to crowd the space with bulky furniture and bookcases. Instead, I opted for this shorter shoe rack and corner bookcase to store my accessories. I have another shoe rack in the closet for my gym shoes – we also bought two of these for Brandon’s closet. I’m obsessed with them.
As for decor, that was the hardest part. I saw this rug on IG (it’s from Rugs USA and I linked to some other similar styles below) and had to have it. Luckily, it goes with the room but that’s the first piece of “boho” I purchased and then ran with it. The grey pouf was next followed by the wooden mirror which I just think all works together…somehow. I added some of my favorite prints from Minted and this adorable babe sign for some personality.
I see this space being all things Lauren-Elyce-Headquarters. I can’t wait to film some YouTube videos in here and just work in an office for a change rather than our dining room table.
