If there is one thing that will never change when it comes to my style, it’s that I love to be comfortable. Casual outfits are sort of my jam and there’s probably nothing I love more than a casual + chic look. Whether I’m running errands on the weekend or going on a chill date night with #FashionablyBae, you just can’t go wrong with a laid back ‘fit.
To be honest though, the style aspect of my love for a comfy look hasn’t always been there. Up until a few years ago, I wasn’t afraid to totally bum it and not in a cute way. Since my style has evolved, especially here on Fashionably Lo, I’ve started to lean towards more of a minimal, casual situation and I don’t hate it.
For me, the perfect casual outfit consists of a comfy pant, an even comfier shoe and some sort of oversized top with a cool jacket to tie it all together. You can still look 100% put together while basically wearing pajamas and that’s a challenge I’d take on any day.
I’ve rounded up some of my essentials for creating the perfect casual look but also wanted to give ya a few tips.
- Step One: Go for the basics. I stock my wardrobe with simple, basic pieces that I can dress down or dress up in any given situation. Classic staples like a grey tee or black leggings are perfect for that casual #ootd.
- Step Two: Keep those feet comfy. The best way to go casual is to keep your footwear casual. Opt for sneakers, loafers or booties and you’ll thank me later.
- Step Three: Add a little edge. Whether it’s a leather jacket, camel vest or cool shades, you’ll have an instant cool factor to your casual getup.
