I don’t know about you guys, but I might be the worst sports fan ever. Rarely do I know what ‘game’ is coming on next, better yet who is actually playing but once in a while, you have those friends who love it and who want to hang out and who am I to turn up a fun opportunity to get together with my girls. For a twist on your typical home-tailgating party, I played up some of my favorite finger foods for game time: Alexia Brand Sweet Potato Fries, Smart Classic Crinkle Fries and Crispy Onion Rings, all purchased from Walmart. These yummy treats are perfect for a larger group and pair so easily with your favorite cocktails and bite sized desserts.

To keep in line with my typical party style, I opted for simple and modern decor. Black and white is my go to, especially when you have ladies cheering for different teams.  Placing everything in the center of the room on my coffee table is the perfect way to keep everyone gathered together, snacking on yummy Alexia treats and keeping their eyes focused on the game.

In addition to a stylish tablescape, you can’t go wrong with homemade dips! Check out some recipes below for a few of my favorites that were a hit with the Alexia snacks I bought.

Spicy White Con Queso Dip

Ingredients

White American Cheese

White Cheddar Cheese

Diced Tomatoes

Two Jalpenos, diced

2/3 Cup Milk

1/2 Cup Water

Directions

Toss all ingredients into a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 5 minutes, stopping to stir after every minute. The mixture might seem watery during the first few stirs, but should come together as a nice runny dip after all the cheese is melted. Serve immediately.

Homemade Ketchup

Ingredients

11 oz tomato puree
⅓ cup honey
⅓ cup apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp onion powder
1 tsp sea salt
¼ tsp allspice

Directions

Place all ingredients in a small pan and mix together with a wooden spoon. Bring to a boil, then simmer until desired consistency is reached (you might have to add a little extra water to thin it up a bit)

Marshmallow Dip:

Ingredients

6 tablespoons unstalted butter

3/4 cup marshmallow creme

1/4 cup sour cream

Cinnamon for garnish

Directions

In a small saucepan, heat butter over medium, swirling pan occasionally, until golden brown. Immediately pour into a small bowl and let cool slightly. In a medium bowl, whisk together marshmallow creme and sour cream, then stir in brown butter and salt to taste. Sprinkle with cinnamon!
