The Lo Edit: A Guide to Affordable Cute Flats

Raise your hand if heels just aren’t cutting it this season. Me! I don’t know what it is, but for the past month or so, I just can’t do the heels and boots. I’m never comfortable enough. I always feel too stuffy. Maybe I’m just getting lazy. Maybe uber casual is becoming more and more my style.  Either way, I have been having a major love affair with flats…like on the verge of obsessed. Whether it’s a cute pair like these pom-pom beauties, a pair of cool sneakers or the ever so hipster loafer trend, I just can’t seem to get enough.

Because I’ve been dropping the heels and picking up the comfier option, I’ve had to do some major research to find affordable cute flats that I can wear in the cooler temps. I’ve had a ton of luck with Forever 21, H&M and ASOS. I’ve even picked up some fun flats at Nordstrom that were on major sale. I think it’s safe to say my flats game is pretty on point right about now.

And while I love this new era of comfort, I realized that dressing around flats could also be difficult. I can’t be the only one who feels like they look a little frumpier without heels on (or am I?). To balance things out and still give my legs that slightly elongated look that we all like, I tend to wear darker jeans or pants and tops that fit right at my hips. This cozy sweater and leggings combo does the job and has basically turned into the base of my winter uniform. Now that the temps have increase in Atlanta (it was 70 this weekend!), I’m thinking more of a ripped jeans + v neck pairing with a cool flannel tied around my waist.
